Behind the Scenes: This Past Quarter’s Results for Amazon Weekly

We want to take a minute to say thank you to everyone who’s subscribed or shared this newsletter! We put a lot of time and effort into creating an easily digestible 5 minute recap that that gives Amazon Sellers all the news and insight they need to stay ahead. This past quarter we averaged a 43% open rate, which is great! But, our goal is continue to improve and give a reason for each and every recipient to read our email every week. We have our sights set on 50% for this new quarter, let’s see if we can achieve it.

We also averaged a 13% CTR, which mostly comes from the “Other Notable Links” section. Unlike other newsletters our goal is that you can read quickly and don’t need to click a bunch of links, so we’re happy with 13% as CTR is not something we are trying to maximize.

And finally, our subscriber base grew by 88% in just 3 months! Better yet, this was done almost all organically. Which means we’re doing our job of providing value each week, but we want to get even better. If you have any feedback for us on how we could improve the content of this newsletter, please feel free to reply to this email and let us know! if you know any other Amazon sellers who you think would also enjoy this email, it would mean a lot to us if you could share it >

Hijack_Listings - MGR Blog

Even Amazon’s Own Products Are Getting Hijacked By Impostors

One of Amazon’s biggest challenges over the years has been dealing with listing hijackers. These are people who will sell counterfeit versions of a product while undercutting the manufacturer or brand’s price and taking over the listing by winning the ‘Buy Box.’ And now, these hijackers have gotten so audacious that they’re doing it to Amazon Basics products too. This is not an easily solved problem as Amazon has to constantly monitor millions of listings, but clearly things are getting out of hand if they can’t even protect themselves. One hope would be that perhaps this will be a massive wake up call and Amazon will devote significantly more resources to solving this problem.
